Data deletion
Instructions for anyone who wants their data removed from Analytics and the Meta app Dashboard-bot. Deletion is free. No login or account is needed.
How to send a request
- Email mouseakabug1@gmail.com with the subject “Data deletion”.
- State the channel (Instagram or Messenger), the account or Page you messaged, and the approximate date and time of the message.
- If you can, include the text of one message: the software does not store usernames, so a record is found by account, time and message.
Do not send passwords or copies of documents. If the details are not enough to identify the record with certainty, we will ask for more.
How a request is handled
Requests are handled by hand. We report the result by email, including when no record about you exists. An automatic handler for Meta deletion requests (data deletion callback) is not implemented, because the software has no Facebook login.
What is removed
- The person's record, including the ID issued by Meta and the permission to participate.
- Conversations, messages and delivery statuses.
- Ad referrals and links to ads.
- The inquiry, its assessment, sales and dry-run conversion events.
- Log entries linked to that person.
What remains
- An event key with the message ID but no content. It prevents a repeat delivery from Meta from restoring the deleted message.
- A log entry recording that a deletion took place, with the number of messages and sales removed, and without naming the person.
- Overall daily counts containing no personal IDs.
No backups are made, so there are no copies to remove separately.
Data held by Meta
Deletion in Analytics does not affect your conversations or account on Instagram and Facebook, which Meta controls. You can remove those in the settings of those services. If you delete a message on Instagram and Meta sends a notification, the software clears its text while the event receiver is running.
